The lucid drunks
The lucid drunks
“The lucid drunks” is an interpretation of one of Goya’s nonsense paintings, where you can see seven characters standing on a vine whose grapes are already dry. Two of them are self-portraits of me, and the others are friends and my own father. Each character has a different expression and each one seems to live his own reality. But they all share wine standing on the vine. They are not in a specific or real space. The outside world does not exist for them. They are living in the here and now. Isn’t that what happens when we don’t sit down with friends and family to celebrate life?
