This piece is part of a series of engravings I made at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Seville. It is a double self-portrait where I ask myself about the eternal question of whether there is something or not after death.
It seems like a dream.
At that time I was very influenced by Goya's engravings. I remember that I made a large-format composite work on this subject. I submitted it to a competition but to this day its whereabouts are unknown.
This engraving is the little that remains of that idea, which makes it a very special work.
